Supporting Wellbeing in Spiritual Leaders

I work with pastors and other faith leaders who want a safe, confidential space for their own inner work.

Spiritual leadership carries unique psychological and emotional burdens. This space is designed to support leaders in navigating their unique human journeys, including the inherently difficult challenges that leadership can bring.

Sessions are depth-oriented and nurture self-reflection, self-awareness, and a deeper connection to oneself, helping you move through life with greater authenticity and agency.

Together, we work with whatever you want to work with. That could include grief, burnout, spiritual questions, identity shifts. All of you is welcome.

I’m not affiliated with any religious denomination, but I come from a deeply religious background and understand the structures, joys, and challenges of church life. I’ve chosen to offer an intentionally neutral space because I believe that this kind of neutrality, combined with skillful relational presence, best supports individual wellbeing, healing, growth, and transformation.

When people are related to from a genuine, compassionate, curious but neutral space — without an agenda for them — they often discover authentic, generative aspects of themselves. Their own internal wisdom becomes more available for them to connect with.

My role is to support your self-led process. Often, this includes making space to explore and work with your inner experiences of paradox, doubt, and complexity — essential parts of our human journey, yet understandably difficult to navigate at times. Our families, systems, and faith communities can mirror this difficulty. My years as a trauma therapist taught me the profound healing and perspective shifts that become possible when we nurture our capacity to hold complexity and stay present with uncertainty as we relate to ourselves and the world around us.

I use the term integrative coaching to describe this kind of interpersonal support. I view it as personal development work — a relational space that supports you in staying present with yourself and your inner world. For leaders, as for anyone working in relational contexts, personal development and professional development are deeply interconnected. Because we are whole people, and no part of our lives exists in isolation, this kind of inner work often supports growth in other areas as well — particularly in relationships and spiritual life.

This type of one-to-one support may be a good fit if you:

  • Are interested in personal or professional development from a depth perspective — working “from the inside out”

  • Want non-judgmental support and space to explore inner conflicts

  • Have a desire to deepen your relationship with yourself

  • Need an unbiased space to explore spiritual or existential questions

A Trauma-Informed Approach

I work from a trauma-informed lens. This means I have understanding and awareness of the impact of trauma, I’ve been trained in recognizing signs of trauma, and I prioritize creating an environment of safety, transparency, collaboration and empowerment. The goal is always to prevent re-traumatization and support healing and recovery.

While sessions are not psychotherapy, my decade-plus of experience as a mental health clinician is part of the background I bring to the work.

My training and ongoing work in the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM) has been significant in my own development and informs how I work with clients. You can read more about NARM, as well as additional trainings and credentials, on the FAQs page.

What are sessions like?

At a basic level, sessions are a conversation between two humans. Within that shared space, there may be exploratory dialogue, invitations toward somatic (body-based and nervous system) awareness, and support for connecting with how you’re relating — physically, emotionally, or spiritually — to what you’re experiencing. Sometimes we might also explore the internal barriers between you and what you’re wanting to feel or experience, while honoring the important role those barriers have played in your life.

Laughter will probably happen, and tears may happen too sometimes. Again: all of you is welcome.

Each session is anchored by your own questions and desires. What are you curious about? What would you like to explore? What are you wanting for yourself?

Session Details

Sessions take place online (over Zoom) and are 55–60 minutes in length. The fee is $200 per session.

Next Steps

If you’re interested in experiencing this kind of support, please be in touch. We’ll start with scheduling an initial consultation over the phone (15-30 minutes). This is a time simply to connect and ask any questions you have. We’ll also chat a little about whether this type of support — versus traditional therapy or another type of support — seems like a good fit for you.

After the consultation, I offer a no-charge initial session. I offer this with awareness of the investment that personal/professional development work is, and a desire to help provide a real sense of what working together is like.

I’m also available for consultation with church leadership teams around leader wellbeing, mental health, trauma, and religious trauma awareness. Please reach out if you’re interested.
